On July 20, the first 10 containers imported by domestic grain processing enterprises from Canada landed at the third phase of Qianwan Terminal in Qingdao Port, marking the entry of the China-Canada Container Transport Demonstration Line project into the actual operation stage, initially realizing the collection and tracking of loading goods and container information, so as to promote economic and trade cooperation between the two ports by informationization and expand the throughput between the two ports. Quantity, container volume and logistics allocation to achieve the goal of mutual benefit and win-win.

Over the years, Qingdao Port has attached great importance to the construction of information technology, invested a lot of manpower, material and financial resources. It regards the upgrading battle of information construction as one of the "five major battles". According to the general requirements of "expanding market and expanding supply by means of information technology", since this year, after many communications and exchanges between Qingdao Port and Canadian parties concerned and repeated consultations, the project has achieved new results. Progress, a new way of tracking international container transport, will continue to innovate the logistics service model, optimize business processes, promote information resources sharing, reduce the operating costs of logistics customers.

It is understood that the construction of container transport demonstration line based on Internet of Things between China and Canada, as one of the key projects in Qingdao Port's information construction and upgrading battle this year, is an extension of the Sino-Canadian Joint Research Plan on Advanced Technology and Supply Chain Management signed by the Ministry of Transport and the Canadian Ministry of Transport, which is undertaken by Qingdao Port by the Sino-Canadian Joint Research on Logistics Information Platform. Since the signing of the "Container Liner Route Based on Internet of Things" cooperation agreement between Qingdao Port and Canada Central Port on February 12, 2012, the governments, ports and cargo owners of the two countries have paid close attention to it. On April 16, the Canadian Manitoba Trade Investigation Mission visited Qingdao Port and successfully held the Sino-Canadian Logistics Supply Chain Trade Exchange Fair. Sino-Canadian partners and shipping companies, trading companies, oil processing enterprises and logistics distribution enterprises jointly discussed to speed up the construction of the demonstration line.

At present, Qingdao Port and Canadian Central Port have jointly established an international container transport information service platform, striving to achieve full tracking of container packing and sealing, truck and train consignment, inbound and outbound ports, cargo owner inspection and unloading in the process of container transport, so as to provide safe, effective, fast and convenient container cargo supervision services for relevant customers and effectively reduce transportation. The risk in the process of loading and unloading should be guaranteed to ensure the safety of goods and create a new management mode of container transportation. Next, we will continue to do a good job in the system test of Canadian imported containers, and organize relevant domestic logistics enterprises to test the export containers to Canada, so as to realize the two-way transmission of container transport information between China and Canada.
